History of the parish

The parish in Machov is mentioned in 1369. Great problems were in Machov with religion. There were much Protestants in this region. Before 1775 there was no priest in Machov. The church was assigned sometimes to Police and from time to time to Náchod. There were many disputes about it. In 1785 there was created a rectory and that brought the end of the disputes.
There are four villages in parish: Machov, Nízká Srbská, Machovská Lhota and Bělý. Nowadays the parish is assigned to the parish in Police nad Metují. And so the priest lives in Police and works in the parishes Police nad Metují, Machov and Bezděkov nad Metují.
